Information managed as an Enterprise Asset

Ask the question to business executives of any company. Is your business at risk or limited due to poor quality data? The answer will very often be yes.  

Indeed, legal regulations, like Basel II or Sarbanes-Oxley, the new central role of BI, the internationalisation of business ... all those elements revealed to business people that information is one of their most important business assets. Topics like data quality, master data management (MDM), customer data integration (CDI) and data governance have considerably evolved in the last five years, from a "zero-interest" topic to a top five issue on the radar of companies' C-level.

However, how to achieve the link between information and business success can be a difficult question to answer for many organizations. Oftentimes the solutions involve approaches that are naïve, disparate and overly technical.
